THE GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE
When the winter holiday season comes around, excitement abounds... Christmas lights, social gatherings with family, good food and gifts! I love when a family member gets a gift that they had been anticipating; the joy in the moment is lovely to witness. In the Word, we find that we receive gifts from God the Father (Ephesians 4:7).
Can you imagine how our heavenly Father feels when He gives His children gifts? I imagine He feels joyful! God knows us and knows exactly what gift to give us. The greatest gift given to us was Jesus. When God sent Jesus as an infant, the Father sent us the perfect gift. Jesus came into the world with the power behind every name bestowed to Him.
IN JESUS WE RECEIVED:
Yahweh-Jireh, The Lord will Provide
Yahweh- Rophe, The Lord who Heals
Yahweh-M'Kaddesh, The Lord who Sanctifies
Yahweh-Shalom, The Lord is Peace
Yahweh-Elohim, The Lord God
Yahweh-Tsidkenu, The Lord our Righteousness
Yahweh-Rohi, The Lord is my Shepherd
Yahweh-Sabaoth, The Lord of Host.
These are but a few of His names.
In the gospel of John, we learn how much God loves us. He sent his son to us for our salvation (John 3:16). We also learn that God is love and if we abide in love we abide in God. Jesus is love.
This holiday season give love, give Jesus. How do you give love? How do you give Jesus? It looks like checking in on an elderly neighbor. It’s paying a meal to a stranger in need. It’s giving a hug to someone who needs one. It’s being the hands and feet of Jesus to the orphans and the widows. It’s being the bride that Jesus longs for, it’s showing compassion to those in need. It’s loving one another like Jesus loves us. We at Rise Lioness Co hope that you give the greatest gift of all to those around you.
